Between the 3rd and the 8th of August the 4th round of the Virgin Kitesurf World Cup took place in Fuerteventura. Known for it's strong winds the forecast looked great for some intense action on 'The Island of eternal Spring'.
With a slot free in the Freestyle I tried my hand at that but with the level so high now it was hard to cause any upsets. The Big Air discipline was pushed towards the end of the week and unfortunately a Calima Sand Storm put an end to proceedings. With less then 1 hour of heats left to run to complete the Men's class this was extremely frustrating. Hopefuly Cape Town goes ahead at the end of the year. With 3 events counting towards the overall ranking right now, this drawback in Fuerteventura was the last thing I needed.
