We did it! Together with 423 kitesurfers we broke the Guinness World Record for 'The Largest Parade of Kitesurfers'. It was touch and go as we barely made it past the 400 mark but by pulling together and reaching out to every kiteboarder we knew, we managed to pass 416 (the previous record set in South Africa) And what a weekend it was! Starting on Friday local schools from Hayling Island came to visit the festival where I treated them to an interactive chat. They then went on to explore the festival further and even had a chance to make their own kites over the weekend.

Saturday the wind teased all day, but was not sufficient to go for the record. Families, Kitesurfers and people of the general public came down to listen to the many keynote chats being run in the talks tent. It was also a great chance for the exhibitors to show off their gear. During the evening we partied and celebrated all being together - (responsibly of course :)

Sunday provided us the perfect conditions to go for the record. At 13:00 the wind finally arrived and the attempt was on. By 14:00 we were well on our way and the rest is history. Thanks to all that supported the event and as always it's great that as a community we can come together and raise some much needed funds for charity.
